Additionally, many people are finding today, that 401k funds are...well, let's just say 201k funds.  Many folks have lost significant value in these funds, primarily due to the poor and unstable economy over the last few years.

One option, given this, is to roll the funds over into an annuity.  The advantage of doing so, is that you will be able to guarantee that the value will never decrease below a certain threshhold, as well as to be guaranteed at least a minimum amount growth moving forward.
